HANA Treasurer Pam Brasher and President Paige Ulc

HANA Treasurer Pam Brasher and President Paige Ulcak had the opportunity to speak to Dr. Kathleen Kozak on Hawaii Public Radio's The Body Show this evening. A range of topics were covered including how Nurse Anesthesiologists provide safe, cost effective care and that studies show no discernable differences in patient outcomes between physician and nurse anesthesia care. CRNAs' role in mitigating the opioid epidemic with opioid sparing and opioid free anesthesia was discussed. The public was informed about CRNAs' extensive education and expertise, and how CRNAs improve access to anesthesia care for the people of Hawaii and across the country. This public discourse was great for Nurse Anesthestists in Hawaii, as we had the opportunity to demonstrate the value CRNAs bring to the healthcare system.
